Selsey Lifeboat Station - Launches

Launch to Assist Windsurfer

Selsey ILB 'Betty and Thomas Moore' launched to assist a windsurfer reported by a member of the public to have been struggling to get back to the shore for about an hour.

The lifeboat crew arrived on scene approximately half a mile offshore from Pagham Yacht Club at 14:41 to find a young man, very tired and cold. The crew recovered the man and his equipment onto the ILB and transported him back to the beach in front of Pagham Yacht Club, where he was met by his friends.

The lifeboat and crew were released to return to station at 14:45, arrived back at 15:07 recovered straight away, and was made ready for service at 15:45.
