Selsey RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Called Out to Persons Cut Off by the Tide

Uk Coastguard (Dover) paged the volunteer crew at Selsey at 3.38 p.m. on Saturday 17th June. They had received a report of four persons trapped on an island near Pagham Harbour entrance.

The 'D' Class Lifeboat launched at 3.49 p.m. and was on scene at the entrance at 3.53 p.m. The weather was wind South West force 2-3 sea state smooth in sunshine. The crew of the Lifeboat found one person cut off with the other three safely making ashore by their own means. The casualty was taken aboard the inshore Lifeboat and taken to the Pagham side of the harbour.

After checking that the other three persons were OK the Lifeboat was released by the Coastguards at 4.15 p.m. and returned to station at 4.25 p.m.
