UK Coastguard (Solent) paged the Selsey RNLI crew at 4.23 p.m. on Sunday 25th June. They requested that the all-weather Lifeboat (ALB) launch to assist Hayling Island RNLI Lifeboat who had the yacht 'Pupsick' under tow heading for Chichester Harbour.

The Selsey ALB slipped the moorings at 4.40 p.m. and rendezvoused with Hayling Lifeboat at 5.15 p.m. south of Chichester Harbour. Hayling Lifeboat was making good progress with the tow so Selsey ALB escorted both vessels into the harbour.

The weather on scene was wind South West force 5 sea state slight-moderate with clear visibility. The Hayling Lifeboat safely berthed the 'Pupsick' alongside at Sparkes Marina and so the Selsey ALB was released by the Coastguards.

'Voluntary Worker' departed Chichester Harbour at 6.15 p.m. and arrived back at the moorings at Selsey at 7.10 p.m.

CREW: Martin Rudwick (Coxswain), Rob Archibald (2nd Coxswain), Geoff Mellett (Mechanic), Colin Pullenger, James Albery, Steve Somner and Kristina Dolan.
