Selsey RNLI Inshore Called to Medical Emergency at Bognor Pier

Uk Coastguard (Dover) paged the volunteer crew at Selsey at 2.27 p.m. on Sunday 9th July. They requested that the inshore Lifeboat (ILB) be launched to attend an incident that South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECamb) were dealing with at Bognor Pier.

The ILB launched at 2.34 p.m. and made best speed towards the pier. They were to act as bottom cover to the SECamb personnel who were dealing with an incident on part of the pier over the water. 'Betty and Thomas Moore' arrived on scene at 2.50 p.m. The SECamb HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) were also called to this incident. At 3.04 p.m. the paramedics had stabilised the casualty and both HART and the ILB were stood down. The ILB departed the pier and headed back to Selsey.

The ILB arrived back at Selsey at 3.21 p.m. and was rehoused straight away.

CREW: Gary Pearce (Helmsman), Rob Archibald and Pip Skeet.
