Selsey Inshore Lifeboat Launches to Drifting Dinghy

Dinghy Dinghy

The RNLI inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was requested to launch by the UK Coastguard to investigate a drifting dinghy. The ILB launched at 2.28 p.m. and was quickly on scene with the dinghy approximately 250 metres south of the Lifeboat station.

The weather on scene was wind westerly force 5 sea state moderate in cloud. The Coastguards were concerned that someone might have fallen out of the dinghy but the ILB crew confirmed that the vessel showed no signs of recent occupation.

The dinghy was towed back to the Lifeboat station and the ILB was rehoused, washed down and made ready for the next call by 3.10 p.m.

CREW: Gary Pearce (Helmsman), James Albrey and Max Wiseman.
