Selsey Inshore Lifeboat Searches for Missing Person

The RNLI volunteer crew were brought to immediate readiness to launch at 1.15 p.m. on Thursday 20th September. Sussex Police had requested UK Coastguard and RNLI assistance to search for a vulnerable person missing from Selsey.

The inshore Lifeboat was requested to launch at 1.50 p.m. and conduct a shoreline search from Selsey Bill to Pagham Harbour. At the same time Selsey and Littlehampton Coastguard teams conducted a beach search.

At 2.30 p.m. all units were stood down after Sussex Police confirmed that the person had been seen in Chichester. The inshore Lifeboat returned to station at 2.35 p.m. and was rehoused straight away.
