Selsey RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Joins Search for Man on a Rubber Ring

UK Coastguard requested the launch of the inshore lifeboat (ILB) to assist in the search for a man on a rubber ring missing after going into the sea at Bognor Regis.

The Selsey ILB launched at 2.29 p.m. on Tuesday 17th September and made best speed to the search area. Littlehampton lifeboat was already conducting a search offshore and Littlehampton and Selsey Coastguard teams were searching the shoreline. After the Lifeboats had been searching for a while the Coastguard rescue helicopter was called in to assist. The weather on scene was wind North East force 2 sea state smooth with excellent visibility.

At 3.20 p.m. all units were stood down after the man had been found safe and well at his home address.
