Selsey RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat Called to Windsurfer

The all-weather Shannon class Lifeboat launched at 12.42 p.m. on Saturday 14th March. The UK Coastguards had received a report that a windsurfer was in difficulties approximately 500-metres off shore from Pagham Yacht Club.

At 12.50 p.m., just as the Lifeboat arrived on scene, the Coastguards reported that the windsurfer had made it safely ashore and so the Lifeboat, 'Denise and Eric', was stood down to return to station. The weather on scene was wind SW force 5-6 sea state moderate in sunshine. The Lifeboat was rehoused, washed down and made ready for service by 2.15 p.m.
