The 3rd Selsey Lifeboats Darts Competition took place on Saturday 14th November in the Lifeboat Inn and what a fantastic fun evening it was.
22 players took part in the knockout competition with some new faces this year, which was great. We kicked off at 7.30pm, the draw was done and the games began.
Jo and Jo were off selling raffle tickets around the pub, and we had some great raffle prizes. Thank you to all those who donated a prize.
It was so nice to see so many people talking, laughing and having a fun evening of Darts; the standard of play plus the banter between players was great!
By 9.30 p.m. we had our semi-finalists, the raffle was drawn and by 10 p.m. the Semi-Finals began. The atmosphere was quiet, the tension was building. Our finalists were announced as Rogers Summers, winner of the competition for the last two years, and Phil Hayers.
It was the best of five legs - the final began and the standard of play was superb. Our winner once again was Roger Summers, winning the Lifeboat Shield and £100. Our runner up was Phil Hayers, winning £50. Well done to both guys.
Our sponsor for the evening was Jim Carr, owner of the Lifeboat Inn. Thank you Jim, for all your hard work, hospitality, and for making this event possible for a third year.
A big thank you also to all the staff at the pub who looked after everyone so well.
Thank you also goes to Neil and Tracy Riddolls, Clive Cockayne, Sean Evans, Jo Evans, Jo and Dave for all their help and effort that went into another successful Selsey Lifeboat Darts competiton.
A total of £263 was raised for the Selsey Lifeboats - a great achievement.
