Lifeboat Week Raffle Prize - A Cake in the Shape of 'Voluntary Worker' Presented to Marjorie Cobby Care Centre

Janet, Brenda and Janice with the Lifeboat Cake

The prize for winning Selsey lifeboat week’s raffle was a cake made by Brenda the Customer Services Manager at Kavanagh Budgens the station’s major sponsor for the week. Ironically, and what are the odds of it happening, Brenda’s ticket was selected as the winner!

Brenda however decided not to accept the prize as it was made with her own hands so a further draw was taken and this time Brenda Fisher was declared the winner. Brenda Fisher has been a visitor to Selsey for 55 years and has a caravan in Selsey. She decided that the cake was too big for her to eat on her own and so wished it to be donated to the Marjorie Cobby House, a care centre for people of 50 and over living in the Chichester, Bognor, Midhurst and Selsey regions who require varying types of care.

The cake was presented by Brenda to Janet Blackman Duty Manager and Care Assistant Janice at Marjorie Cobby House.
