Nancy Lokos, a Selsey resident and supporter of Selsey Lifeboat generously donated the sum of £727 from the sale of paintings.
Nancy says: "This all started December 2013 when I went to visit my parents at Christmas. My mum and I like painting and I wanted to do more, so we came up with an idea of painting something every month in 2014, but doing it within an hour, which made it possible to fit it in around work and life commitments . There were no set themes or sizes and the only rule was the time.
We did our paintings and shared them on Facebook, and this started to raise a little interest amongst friends. Then there was a suggestion of auctioning the paintings off at the end of the year for charity, which I thought was a great idea and that is what I decided to do with my 12 paintings. As the year went on I found out that I had a bit of a following with people looking forward to what the next painting would be. In December, after I completed the final painting, I opened the bidding up and 10 out of the 12 paintings sold, raising a total of £727 which was amazing.
It was really nice to do something I love and also for it to contribute to RNLI Selsey (I was thinking it would be great if this money could go towards the new lifeboat station.)"
A huge thank you to Nancy for her support and donation!!
