It was a star-studded affair at the Churchill Awards 2016 to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals aged 65+ who continue to push society’s perceptions of age.
One of RNLI Selsey Lifeboats Chichester-based fundraising team was presented with a Churchill Award at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel recently for her work with her fellow residents in St Richard's Lodge, Chichester and her fundraising efforts to support the volunteer crews of Selsey Lifeboats.
Pat was described as "Extremely passionate when it comes to supporting the RNLI volunteers who put their own lives at risk to save lives at sea. The warmth of Pat's personality enables her to persuade increasing numbers of businesses to get involved and this in itself is a full-time role. Despite this Pat never forgets anyone who needs her support in St Richard's Lodge whilst coping with her own health issues in recent years".
The awards were presented by the Chairman and CEO of Churchill Retirement Living and other award winners included Sir Roger Moore KBE , David Dimbleby, Arsene Wenger, and Sue McGregor, among other well known names. Pat said it would be a day she would never forget.
All our volunteer crews and fundraising colleagues in Chichester and Selsey congratulate Pat on this wonderful achievement and thank her for her fantastic continuing efforts.
