On 11th November 2012 a service was held for Remembrance Sunday at The Academy, Selsey.
The service was well attended with many local groups represented. Afterwards, the veterans and local organisations gathered outside and then marched from The Academy, Manhood Lane, to the War Memorial at St. Peters Church, High Street. This march was led by the band from ‘TS Sturdy’ and followed by the Royal British Legion, Selsey RNLI crew, Selsey Coastguard, Selsey Fire Service, local police, many ex-service men and women, local Scout and Guide groups, and members of the public, together with flag bearers. These were representing Selsey RNLI, the Royal British Legion, and local Scout and Guide groups.
Two minutes silence was observed at 11 a.m. and then the wreathes of poppies were laid by the many groups attending the service with Coxswain Martin Rudwick laying the wreath for Selsey RNLI.
