Four past and current members of RNLI Selsey Lifeboat Station Branch Fund Raising Committee were awarded well-deserved long service Silver Badges at a ceremony in Poole Lighthouse Centre on Thursday 2nd July 2015.
Martin and Andrew Savory began helping way back in 1984 (following in the footsteps of their mother, Judy) and worked tirelessly, often doing jobs no one else really knew about; they always saw what needed doing and just did it. They have been greatly missed since their retirement in October 2014.
Richard Milverton served both on the committee and as Fund Raising Chairman from 2009-2012, again making a fantastic contribution to the significant funds raised by Selsey Lifeboat Station Branch. He too is sadly missed following his retirement in October 2014.
The last, but by no means least, Fund Raising Committee member to be honoured with the award of a Silver Badge was Sue Lintott. Sue has been on the Fund Raising Committee since 1996. She has been Deputy Chairman for the past five years and also looks after the station web site. Her contribution is invaluable for the continuing success of the fund raising efforts.
Also present at the ceremony was John Light, a former committee member and Selsey Lifeboat Station Branch Chairman, who received his Gold Badge at the Barbican in May this year. He was accompanied by his wife, Jean.
Colvin Rae, the current Selsey Lifeboat Station Branch Chairman, was also in the audience and expressed his sincere thanks for all the valuable work done by members, past and present, of the Fund Raising Committee.
