£1513.65 collected at This Year's Tesco Christmas Collections

Selsey Lifeboat Fund Raisers, Chichester Branch Fund Raisers members and other helpers took part in two bucket collections at the Chichester branch of Tesco’s on Saturday 20th and 27th December 2014. Thanks to Ashley Pledger who works at the store and is the nephew of the 2nd Coxswain, Willy Pledger, we were able to take advantage of the generosity of shoppers on these two days.

Several of the collectors were brave enough to don the Stormy Stan outfit while collecting (some of who we couldn't get out of the outfit because they were having so much fun...), much to the delight of the visiting children and West Sussex Ambulance crew.

One gentlemen, who gave very generously, explained that if it wasn't for the RNLI his two daughters wouldn't be around today.

Thanks to the generosity of the shoppers who contributed, the fantastic sum of £1513.65 was collected over the two days and this amount will be ear-marked for the Shannon Appeal for Selsey Lifeboat.

Our thanks to Tesco’s for allowing us this opportunity to continue with the appeal and to raise such a fantastic amount!!.
